Piedmont - The region of noble wines
Situated in the north-west of the country, this is one of Italy’s most prestigious wine regions. Piedmont’s position at the foot of the Alps grants it the benefit of cool breezes to regulate the hot summer days, while at the same time protecting it from the worst of the winter winds from the north.
The land
Piedmont’s name means “foot of the mountain” and it aptly describes Piedmont’s location near the Alps, just east of France and south of Switzerland. In this ideal location for grape growing, Gabriele’s vineyards, scattered throughout the best of the Langhe and Roero regions, flourish with regional varietals of distinct quality: Moscato, Arneis, Nebbiolo, Barbera, as well as others.
Barolo - the king of the wine, wine of the Kings
The noble Barolo wine is a treat for lovers of fine wine. This refined and elegant wine is known for its aromas of tar and roses, its ruby red colour which ages to a darker rusty red, and its capacity to age and improve over years.
Complex and sophisticated
Ruby red, transparent and bright, at the nose an intense note of soft liquorice like a wheel, followed by a note of new leather and a jam of berries to then blend into a balsamic finish. In the mouth it is very fresh, with a tannin present but not intrusive.
