Ca’ Liptra

Ca'Liptra fills the space between ancient traditions and experimentation. The fruits of the combined passion of 4 friends, who in 2012 started producing wines which let the terroir of Cupramontana shine. A little-talked-about but incredible landscape found in the dramatic, high altitude Adriatic coast of the Marche.

Handcrafted wines

Ca'Liptra comes from the part of the vine's flower which protects it until the bud bursts, which perfectly reflects this winery’s approach. This tiny project is all about the beauty and nature of the artisan, working naturally with care and passion to produce handcrafted wines that you will want to drink over, and over and over again.

The estate

The estate is located in Cupramontana, one of the highest-quality villages in the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi denomination, sitting at 505m above sea level. Today, Ca’Liptra has 2.5 hectares of vines, none younger than 31 years old, which are just as influenced by the cool air blowing in off the Appennines as they are by the Adriatic coast; because of this contrast, the wines are aromatically assertive and bright, without losing the inherent richness of Verdicchio - considered by many as Italy's great white wine grape of Le Marche.

Traditions and experimentation

At Ca’Liptra farming is organic (certification pending), a framework that offers a lot of flexibility as they update their technique annually to adapt to the conditions.Their main desire is to let the terroir of Cupramontana shine, so once again their approach is characterised by flexibility. They are led by the land and situation, rather than the other way around.

21 S. Michele

Verdicchio Castello di Jesi Classico Superiore Riserva "S.M. 21" is a white wine made with old school artisanal methods. Its fruity flavour profile is thanks to it being aged in a 12 month process within barriques. It has an elegant structure, synthesising both fresh and smooth, with adorable sapidity end.
