Poggio Mandorlo

Gems of Tuscany, Poggio Mandorlo wines walk the tightrope of both elegance and structure, finesse and intensity. They’re true originals that evade definition.

The magic of friendship

Poggio Mandorlo winery was born thanks to the longevity of true friendship. Four friends, Roberto, Felice, Giuseppe, and Fabio, who all share the same passion for a territory - the Maremma. In 2001 they decided to make their dream a reality and started producing wine showing love and respect to their favourite region, under the careful guidance of expert enologist Filippo Paoletti.

What gives the wines of Poggio Mandorlo their unique characteristics? The care and dedication shown to the vines on which they grow. This young Tuscan company is rapidly conquering the international press, thanks to the experience of winemaking guru, oenologist Filippo Paoletti. It is his experience and expertise that gives this wine its unique touch and a personality like no other.

His approach with oenology has always been characterised by humility. He allows the wine to express itself, rather than trying to adapt and mould it. In the face of such natural potential, he believes the only thing to do is put yourself, and style, aside and allow nature to unfold how it sees fit.

The Maremma

The winery is located at the foot of the volcano Amiata, in the municipality of Seggiano, at the heart of the DOC Montecucco. With a scenic beauty, this corner of Tuscany can be found at the crossroads between the Val d’Orcia and the hills of Maremma.

The land

The estate covers an area of 34 hectares planted with Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The results are real Super Tuscan with elegance, character, texture, freshness and a multitude of personalities to enjoy.

La Querce

La Querce is an expression of pure Sangiovese, Tuscany's most planted variety. With this wine, Poggio Mandorlo pays tribute to the intense connection between land and grape.

La Querce

Produced with Sangiovese and Merlot grapes, blended in stainless steel vessels and aged in French oak barriques which enrich it with its trademark woody notes. This wine is as deep in flavour as it is colour, with intense ruby and purple hues. Its aroma is characterised by notes of red fruit and flowers brought together in the bouquet. Thick and smooth tannins make La Querce an unforgettable, and extremely drinkable wine.
